Job Duties

Serves as Highway Equipment Operator to the Agribusiness operations at State Farm Correctional Center by performing those duties and tasks necessary to ensure the distributions, loading, unloading and packaging of produce, milk, meat, and other items produced by Agribusiness. Promote agricultural business in the deliveries of produce, milk, meat, and other items produced by agribusiness to Department of Corrections (DOC) and Non-Department of Corrections agencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to interpret and follow oral and written rules and regulations. Demonstrated ability to organize and complete work assignments with minimal guidance. Demonstrated ability to understand and apply operating procedures to compose written responses to inquiries. Demonstrated ability to read and follow a map. Demonstrated ability to instruct others in use of maintenance equipment. Knowledge of operation, maintenance, and general repair of transfer highway equipment. Possession of valid state motor vehicle operator’s and a Virginia Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A. Knowledge of highway and equipment operation safety rules. High school graduate or equivalent.

Additional Considerations

Possession of valid tanker certification. Working knowledge of produce handling.
