1. Background
This consultancy falls under the framework of the CAFI Project, which seeks to catalyze the Call to Action on Protection from Gender-Based Violence in Emergencies (CTA) by working with Women-Led Organizations (WLOs) to drive positive change and strengthen the prevention, risk mitigation, and response to Gender-Based Violence (GBV) in humanitarian contexts.
CAFI aims to support and strengthen WLOs through capacity-sharing approaches among partners. WLOs are engaged from the beginning, co-creating and adapting the project according to their unique contexts and needs, ensuring accountability, women’s leadership, and representation throughout the project cycle.
The project uses both regional and national structures to enable the cascading of knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices across the region.
CAFI is currently in its second phase, which runs from May 28, 2023, to December 31, 2025.
2. Purpose of the Training
The purpose of this training is to strengthen the capacity of WLOs affiliated with the CAFI network in Lebanon, Iraq, Libya, and Jordan. producing high-quality narrative and financial reports that meet international standards and donor requirements. The training will enhance the organization’s skills in documentation, evidence-based reporting, and accountability mechanisms in the humanitarian context.
3. Key Training Components
- Introduction to narrative reporting: structure, analysis, outcome alignment,
- Writing results-oriented reports and impact storytelling with evidence,
- Financial reporting is aligned with donor and international accounting standards,
- Aligning financial reports with budget lines and planning tools,
- Documentation tools, evidence files, and archiving systems,
- Interlinkage between documentation, monitoring, evaluation, and learning.
4. Scope of Work / Consultant Tasks
- Design and submit a full training curriculum based on the outlined topics,
- Develop practical training materials, including templates and exercises,
- Deliver a 5-day interactive, in-person training in Arabic,
- Facilitate participatory discussions and group work,
- Conduct pre- and post-training evaluations,
- Submit a final report including analysis of training results, attendance, and recommendations.
5. Roles and Responsibilities
Trainer/Consultant Responsibilities:
- Design and submit training materials in advance,
- Facilitate and deliver the training in Jordan,
- Provide post-training documentation and final report.
AWO Responsibilities:
- Handle all logistical and administrative coordination,
- Ensure participation of target WLOs from all countries,
- Provide necessary equipment and a training venue.
Partner Organizations in Lebanon, Iraq, and Libya:
- Nominate and confirm participants,
- Ensure participation and follow-up with their representatives,
- Provide feedback and coordination with AWO when needed.
6. Consultant Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in training on financial and narrative reporting,
- Solid knowledge of international reporting and accountability standards,
- Experience working with civil society and women-led organizations,
- Ability to develop and deliver engaging content in Arabic,
- Strong facilitation and interpersonal communication skills.
7. Deliverables
- Detailed training plan and methodology,
- Full training materials (presentations, handouts, tools),
- Pre- and post-training evaluation reports,
- Final report including attendance sheet, visual documentation (with consent), and key recommendations.
