Our client a Public Sector body are currently looking to recruit a Transport & Logistics Project Manager to join their team.This role will involve designing and building an effective Transport plan for the region.Main Areas of responsibility:Initially to lead on Stage 2 to design, trial and prepare for tender, ensuring that all operations align with the project’s objectives, standards and budget. * Establishing and leading a Stakeholder Consortium: Consisting of key stakeholders to ensure that decisions made throughout the project are aligned to project scope and objectives.

  • Development of Service Specification Framework: Define clear criteria and standards for transport access and compliance to include resource management, ensuring a safe, reliable, cost-effective and transparent methodology to meet the needs of all Service Users.
  • Route Optimisation & Technology Integration: Leveraging technology experts and trialling advanced route optimisation technology to improve scheduling, reduce inefficiencies and maximise resource allocation to be included as part of the tender preparation.
  • Resource Coordination: Collaborate with Section 38/39 Agencies who are the vehicle owners to consolidate resources under a unified framework. Evaluate the existing fleet and develop replacement programme, health and safety compliance and aligning to disability access standards.

Develop a process to create ongoing capacity and waiting list management system integrated with resource planning tools. * Resource Coordination Plan: Consolidate resources and streamline fleet management in collaboration with key stakeholders, ensure compliance with health, safety and accessibility standards. This step includes evaluating the current fleet and developing a sustainable, energy efficient replacement programme.

  • Operational Feasibility Testing: Conduct pilot tests to evaluate the operational effectiveness of the transport model, identify challenges and refine the system based on real-world feedback.
  • Procurement & Tendering: Finalise the groundwork for procurement by preparing the specifications and ensuring that the tendering process aligns with the designed model.
