We are also a trusted & reliable provider of prescription products, including emollients, bone health products & generics to the NHS with over 100 years’ heritage behind us and we have ambitious growth plans over the next 3 years.Role Purpose:We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Supply Chain professional who will have responsibility for UK Commercial Logistics as part of the UK Supply Chain team, working in collaboration with the logistics teams across our UK businesses.Key to the role is to develop a cohesive UK commercial logistics strategy, delivering optimization across the triangle of Cost-Quality-Service.This will involve cross-functional collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders including 3rd Party Logistics providers, 3rd Party CMO suppliers, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Quality, Regulatory and the Group Supply Chain function.Key areas of focus are to develop a UK logistics strategy including import, domestic and export, improve cross-functional collaboration and communication, delivery of process improvements that support the strategic objectives outlined above, coaching of the team and delivery of continuous improvement through constructively challenging the status quo.This role is key in supporting the delivery of our strategic vision of Caring for People as a Trusted Partner. On a day-to-day basis you will:

  • Develop and implement a cohesive UK Commercial Logistics vision and strategy
  • Deliver optimization across the triangle of Cost-Quality-Service
  • Deliver improvements in service levels: Target 98% OTIF and PFR
  • Improve internal and external cross-functional collaboration along the supply chain value stream
  • Effectively lead and develop your team, ensuring they are highly engaged and motivated and working cohesively towards the achievement of their objectives
  • Develop and implement best practice across UK Logistics
  • Proactively drive and support change within the supply chain, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and supporting the prioritization and implementation of them
  • Work closely with other key members of the Supply Chain team to ensure that we operate as a cohesive unit in pursuit of shared goals and objectives

  • Minimum five years experience leading a Logistics Team including 3PL Management, road, sea and air logistics services ideally in FMCG and\or pharmaceutical supply chains
  • Experience of importation, domestic and export logistics
  • Ideally degree qualified
  • Experience of SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Strong communication and influencing skills and able to partner effectively with a wide variety of local and global stakeholders.
