Overview

IDC US/ IDC Canada is seeking a Research Vice President to join our established enterprise and cloud networking research practice, focusing on Cloud and Datacenter Networking Technologies, Infrastructure and Services.

This dynamic individual will work closely with IDC’s Enterprise Networking analysts and collaborate across IT Infrastructure, Cloud/Edge, and Security Programs to assess the impact of digital and cloud infrastructure, datacenter and cloud IBN/SDN orchestration and automation, application delivery infrastructure, container networking, and related hardware and software network infrastructure in datacenters and clouds. Driving research in key areas such as Multicloud Networking and IaaS Network Services, this senior member of IDC’s networking research team will be responsible for supporting ongoing research, market forecasts, custom consulting, and Go-To-Market services. As modern cloud-native and Gen AI workloads, and traditional workloads, proliferate across public and private clouds, API-based cloud connectivity and IaaS networking within clouds has become increasingly valuable to enterprise customers. As such, IDC has expanded its cloud networking coverage to include IaaS networking, including direct cloud connects and interconnects, cloud VPNs, IaaS load balancing, cloud transit networks, cloud DNS, and other associated IaaS network services.

Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of AI/Gen AI, and its impact on networking and connectivity strategies. Understanding of network technologies’ impact on cloud service providers and enterprise investments across cloud and edge architectures will also be a plus.
