- Bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a welding engineering role, preferably within the infrastructure, energy, or industrial sectors.
- Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and standards (e.g., ASME, ISO).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing welding procedures and quality control measures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and communicate with multiple stakeholders.
- Certification as a Welding Engineer (e.g., EWE, IWE) is highly desirable.
- Experience with tender reviews and the preparation of welding proposals.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) qualification or willingness to pursue one is desirable.
- A valid European driving license is required.
Welding Engineer Skills:
- Create, review, and validate welding procedures and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
- Evaluate welding aspects of tender documents, ensuring welding requirements and specifications are properly addressed.
- Prepare detailed welding proposals for bids, including method statements, cost estimates, and technical justifications to support tender submissions.
- Conduct inspections and tests on welded joints to assess quality and identify defects or deviations from required standards.
- Provide guidance and training to welding personnel, ensuring they are up to date with the latest welding techniques, technologies, and safety practices.
- Collaborate with project engineers to select appropriate materials and welding processes based on project needs and environmental conditions.
- Address and resolve any welding-related issues that arise during project execution, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of welding procedures, inspection reports, and certification documents, ensuring project documentation is compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate welding activities within the overall project timeline and objectives.
