Job Description Summary

Your role an Wind Farm Service Technician reports directly to the Service Site Manager. You will also interface with the client, internal technical team, other GE wind farms and contractors. The role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled electrical servicing of wind turbines and site infrastructure based on Coopers Gap Wind Farm, Boyneside QLD (located between Kingaroy and Dalby).

Relocation assistance (domestically) is available for the right candidate.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform scheduled electrical maintenance and fault finding of assets, using GE manuals, specifications, bulletins and GE work instructions 
• Maintain reports using GE’s various software management tools and databases 
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the organisation’s SWMS, LOTO, EHS and associated policies/procedures
• Perform high voltage switching operations according to site procedures as required 
• Form part of an on-call roster to work weekends (must be available in local area) or as directed by management
• Make a conformance or non-conformance decision upon completion of inspections
• Be familiar with and follow all EHS policies, and procedures applicable to the job and cooperate with GE investigations and EHS audits, reporting errors, violations, incidents, or problems immediately using GE reporting system
• Submit enquiries to Engineering to ensure technical issues are resolved, and answering questions from Management, Engineering, Sourcing and Project Teams as required

Qualifications & Requirements:

• A current Queensland Electrical License and electrical trade qualifications
• Proficient in fault finding with electrical, mechanical and hydraulic equipment
• Competent to an intermediate level in computer skills 
• Must have positive attitude and the ability to complete physically demanding tasks at heights (climbing wind turbines)
