Data Engineer/ArchitectOur dynamic client in Cork is actively seeking a talented Data Engineer/Architect to join their ranks. As a key player, you will collaborate closely with product managers and fellow developers to deliver top-tier data pipelines, innovative data models, architectural designs, and ETL processes. Your primary mission is to design, develop, and maintain the robust data layer essential for powering our cutting-edge products.Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to capture and analyze requirements for the data layer and relational entity structure.
• Develop and deploy ETL processes utilizing tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or equivalent, to extract data from 3rd party and transactional systems.
• Take charge of data modeling, development for data marts, and the creation of semantic layers supporting consumer-facing products.
• Construct conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
• Design, develop, and maintain schemas, tables, views, indexed views, stored procedures, and indexes using T-SQL and advanced T-SQL.
• Embrace and integrate new tools and technologies to meet evolving data requirements within the organization.
• Innovate ways to enhance data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
• Produce and manage documentation deliverables, including process models, architecture diagrams, data models, data flow diagrams, metadata, glossaries, data dictionaries, entity relationship diagrams, data mapping documents, BUS matrix, and other data design artifacts that define technical data specifications and transformation rules.
• Ensure the development team adheres to best practices regarding coding standards, code reviews, and testing, including unit, integration, and system tests.

Qualifications

• Over 4 years of overall experience in IT, with a preference for candidates experienced in databases and MS SQL Server.
• More than 4 years of hands-on experience with T-SQL and advanced T-SQL.
• Over 4 years of expertise in developing and deploying ETL processes using SSIS or comparable ETL tools.
• Over 4 years of experience in logical and physical modeling, including designing dimensional data models, facts, and slowly changing dimensions from scratch.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience deploying modern data solutions, leveraging components like Azure Functions, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Flows, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL.
• At least 2 years of experience with Agile Scrum, version control, and DevOps/DataOps.
