Looking for an exciting new opportunity? We’ve got you covered! Due to business growth, we need a Head of Operations – Commissioning to join our team.

Job Purpose: To effectively lead and manage the department to achieve business objectives. To ensure that the department achieves their compliance obligations.

Lead and assist IT with Business Management Systems. Establish departmental key performance indicators and improvement objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take accountability for the effectiveness of the department.
  • Take risk-based approach with a primary focus on commercial delivery of the department.
  • To ensure that all department operations are carried out in line with company quality, health & safety and environmental standards.
  • Manage and define the resources needed are available including for human resources, vehicle, equipment, outsourced activities and information.
  • Identify training requirements, recruitment, staff development, performance reviews.
  • Responsible for creation of standard operating procedures, audits and performance,
  • Engage, direct and support persons to contribute to the effectiveness of the business strategy and the business management systems.
  • To adhere to all internal company reporting requirements.
  • Establish sales strategy including target turnover and profit levels.
  • Periodic review of departmental profit and loss performance through information provided by the Board.
  • Identify new market opportunities.
  • Driving force behind opening and cementing relationships with key clients.
  • Responding to high level PQQ, tender and sales enquiries.
  • To engage in tenders and submissions; encourage and support all KAMS to become engaged in tender processes.
  • To gain, review, renew and develop customer contracts.
  • High level problem resolution and complaints management.
  • Oversee I.T systems & assist with development of programmes essential to the requirements of the company.
  • To work through all current central administrative, planning, scheduling, reporting and accounting systems to efficiently and accurately deliver work to the client to the required high standards of the company.

Required Skills:

  • GCSE in Maths & English
  • Chemical Flushing techniques.
  • Handling, storage and use of hazardous chemicals.
  • Emergency preparedness and response.
  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience
  • Able to work alone and achieve tasks without supervision and to be able to work on own initiative.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literacy a benefit.
  • Flushing Techniques – (BSRIA, BG:29/12, BS8552, BS8554 and other industry codes of practise).
  • Safety Training / Awareness: Confined Spaces Training, Working at Heights, Basic / Emergency First Aid, Basic Fire Response, Basic Spill Response, Manual Handling, Safe Use of Ladders, Hazardous Material Handling, Asbestos, Environment.
  • UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certification (Training Provided)
  • Commissioning techniques to BSRIA & CIBSE Commissioning Water Systems Codes and BSRIA Application Guide Commissioning Air Systems in Buildings BG49 and CIBSE Commissioning Codes.
  • A full clean driving license is required
  • You may be required to travel around your region with the need for an occasional overnight stay
